ARK Seeds is incredibly excited to start our spring planting (finally!). We work really hard in April to start our very own heirloom seeds in the greenhouse. From Brussel sprouts to basil to peppers, our team has been eagerly watching them grow in the greenhouse. Now the time has come to transplant out to our 40-acre farm. While ARK Seeds has been planting, growing and seed saving for quite some time, we know that learning and getting started for the beginner gardener can be intimidating – we were once beginners too! ARK Seeds offers a build your own kit to help you get started.
Our build your own seed kits have 4 different options. Each of the options allows you to choose any variety of your favorite vegetables or herbs by using check boxes on the website.
Option A – 10 seed varieties
Option B – 20 seed varieties
Option C – 30 seed varieties
Option D – 40 seed varieties
The ARK build your own kit comes in a Kevlar bag that protects your seeds for up to 10 years. So, you can use some of the seeds in your garden now and save the remaining, unused seeds for next year!

Our three primary pieces of advice for beginners are:
- Start small! A small, manageable garden is much better than a large, frustrating one!
- Plant what you and your family will eat.
- WATER! Plan the garden in an area where you can use a sprinkler or hose to water daily.
With those points in mind, have fun, enjoy the sun and harvesting your heirloom produce!
