It is FINALLY our favorite season at ARK!
For us, one of the most rewarding parts about gardening is being outdoors with our family and community. Even though the ARK team has been gardening for, in some cases, a lifetime, we still experience challenges; animal, bugs, climate all play a huge uncontrollable factor into the success of the season. However, gardening makes us appreciate the small things like a morning drizzle, an evening thunderstorm, bees swarming the flowers and just the right, warm temperature forecast. It brings us together – not just the act of planting – but enjoying the fruits of our labor while we eat meals together.
One thing you’ll hear us say time and time again – plant only what you and your family enjoy eating! The literal fruit of your labor will be motivation to keep planting.
No matter what planting zone you live in, by this time, all varieties can be planted outdoors! So any and all varieties from the ARK Seeds Kits can be in the dirt. There are several varieties that we plant multiple times throughout the spring, summer and fall after each harvest. These varieties can be planted 2-3 times throughout the season – beets, radishes, lettuce, beans, peas, carrots, arugula, basil, dill, cilantro. By planting this way, you can enjoy multiple, steady harvests throughout the season.
